RAMOS: WE PLAYED WELL

The Spanish international Sergio Ramos was unable to convert during the Champions League’s semi final match in which German giant Bayern Munich beat them in the penalty shoot-out. The Munich club overcame Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu to seal a spot in the final game in which they will face the London club Chelsea.

While Bayern Munich anticipated to become the very first team to be victorious at the home ground, once again, Los Blancos failed to add another one in their total title.  Madridista watched their favorite team collapse under pressure in the penalty shoot-out, with Sergio Ramos, Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo failed to score from the penalty spot.

After the game, Sergio Ramos, the ever competitive player was reasonably nit happy with their ouster from the elite football competition, but told that the outcome will not carry any negative vibe on the report card at the end of the season.

Ramos told that Los Blancos might have liked to go to the finals but they cannot quetch as they saw their attempts undone by an efficient rival in Bayern Munich. He also added that Real footballers must not give in to the lost and they must try to secure the league title.

The Spanish international agreed that Real would like to go to the final; even if they have failed to do that the season is not finishing at a low. He agreed that the German giants played challenging football and he is quite proud of his side as they are having a nice domestic season. According to Ramos, Real may have wrong in their strategy as Bayern Munich had a strong attacking field with Franck Ribery, Kroos, Mario Gomez and Arjen Robben.

RAMOS: NO RIFT

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has stated that there is no ill feeling between him and the manager Jose Mourinho and insisted that no rift existed between them at all at any time and whatever was written in the press about this “rift” was a work of fiction by the media. It had emerged in the media a couple of weeks back that the two had a heated argument during the club’s practice session, just two days after the capital club succumbed 2-1 to arch rivals Barcelona in the first leg of the Spanish King’s Cup semi final tie at the Santiago Bernabeu.

But Ramos has reiterated that he has immense respect for the manager who has won everything there is to win in the world of club football and the two are extremely close personally as well and all the media speculation about a rift between the two is completely untrue. This is not the first time that reports of rifts in the Real Madrid dressing room have emerged and it was only a few months back when it was reported that Sergio Ramos and Iker Casillas had led a revolt against The Special One.

However, Ramos did agree that the two did not always look eye to eye but went on to add that such problems do arise in a family that is so huge and played down the incidents. Ramos also rubbished claims that he was summoned by club President Florentino Perez to address the rift.

Real Madrid are currently 10 points clear of Barcelona at the top of the Spanish League and looking good for their first League title in over three years and Sergio Ramos has made it clear that they will not stop until they manage to secure the League crown for the fans and the club.

SERGIO SURPRISED BY DEFEAT

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has said that he is very surprised about the recent loss suffered by his club at the hands of Barcelona in the Copa del Rey. Real Madrid were facing Barcelona for the second time this season at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid manager José Mourinho was hoping to achieve only his second victory over Barcelona during his tenure at Real Madrid. Things look extremely awesome for Real Madrid in the opening few minutes of the match. They scored with a swift counter-attack through Cristiano Ronaldo in the 10th minute.

Cristiano Ronaldo collected the ball from inside the Real Madrid half and ran for almost half the pitch before putting the ball past Barcelona goalkeeper with a left footed shot. It looked like finally Real Madrid would be able to break the jinx Barcelona have been having over them in recent seasons. It has been four years since Real Madrid beat Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu. The 2-1 defeat was especially very hard on Real Madrid, who performed exceptionally throughout the match. Hence, Sergio Ramos has said that he is very much surprised that Real Madrid managed to lose to Barcelona in the end. Puyol scored with a header in the opening few minutes of the second half, while Eric Abidal secured a win a late on in the match from a Lionel Messi assist.

“We must be realistic: we didn’t do too well. We threw our advantage away and Barcelona were efficient at scoring. We must now think about La Liga. It will be difficult to defeat Barcelona at Camp Nou, but we’re not about to give Copa [del Rey] away,” Sergio Ramos was quoted as saying the club’s official website. Real Madrid have the opportunity to win against Barcelona in the second leg.
